Goa is known for its unique and high-quality local products. Here are some authentic Goan items you can take home as souvenirs or for personal use:


Milled Organic Coconut oil

Goa produces some of the finest organic coconut oil, directly milled and free from additives. This versatile oil can be used for cooking, skincare, and hair care. The best part? It costs one-third of the price of commercial brands.

Timings: 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM Goan Rice

Goa offers unique rice varieties that differ in taste and texture. They are widely available in major grocery stores.

Popular Goan Rice Varieties:

  • Goan Red Rice: High in fiber, aids in weight loss, and is easy to digest.

  • Goan Boiled Rice: Larger grains with a chewy texture.

  • Goan Jeera Rice: A safe choice, similar in flavor to regular white rice.

Goan Cashew

  • Cashews from Goa are widely available, but be cautious—some stores sell imported cashews as Goan varieties.

  • Search on Maps for Zantye Cashew to find the one closest to you.

Alcohol

These brands are local to Goa and are good. I am also showing the price difference from rest of the country

  • Greater Than Gin: Award wining gin. (Price in Goa: ₹850, price outside: ₹3000)

  • Tickle Gin: Also good gin (Price in Goa: ₹650, Price outside: ₹1600)

  • Maka Zai Rum: worth trying

  • Paul John: They also do whiskey tours and their whisky is good. Internationally acclaimed

  • Cabo: Sweet coconut flavored liquer. Very tasty and good for pina coladas

  • Port wine: San Andre is good enough. All port wines are super cheap and super sweet but you can try them out if you haven’t


Coconut Vinegar

Coconut vinegar is distinct from synthetic vinegar and adds a unique flavor to salads and other dishes.

  • You will find this at all shops in Goa. This vinegar is specific to Goa only
